SABOTAGE : GIVE ME MY PET BACK!

"Sabotage" was initially a one-year student project, developed during my sophomore year at DigiPen. It is a 2D metroidvania platformer in which you control Jero, an alchemist who had his pet golem stolen from him by an evil, more powerful alchemist. The goal of the game is for the player to take on the enemy's army of golems and become stronger so that they can eventually take on the alchemist himself, defeating him and rescuing his pet.

In my sophomore year, I held the role of Technical Director for the project. As such I had to take on more programming tasks than any other member and had to review other team members' code regularly, as well as providing guidance for code design and data structures' usage.  Among my tasks that year were:

  • Sound System
  • Input
  • Physics
  • Save System
  • AI behavior for some enemies
  • Coins and other collectibles
  • Deletion Scheduler
  • Messaging System

Development was restarted during my senior year, where I took on the task of developing the level editor, so that we could easily add new content to the game. This is detailed further in the section for the Sabotage Level Editor.
